REMNANTS OF AN ANEMIC LOVE -4

Mercury was never mere a floating liquid between us.
It filled our bodies,
Thighs
Veins.
Even the shadow's breath often tasted
Easily evaporated fumes.
Each one always inconsistently soaking
Their pressure eroded finger tips
For gorges shaped furnaces where we hid.
My balconies were among the first to be burnt;
Rapid peelings of outnumbered nests.
Calm down.
Our bodies were already overcooked even in
Normal room temperature unbearable to us.
